Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Resources

During March, in recognition of Brain Injury Awareness Month, Health Net Federal Services, LLC (Health Net) is taking steps to increase awareness about traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and highlighting the reduction of stigma for those who seek care.

Health Net Resources

Warrior Care Support Program – A care management program that provides complete health care planning and coordinates services for Warriors who had a serious injury or have a combat-related behavioral health diagnosis.

Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center – A collaboration between the military, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), civilian providers and local communities to support and care for active duty service members and Veterans who have TBIs and their families.

reMIND.org – Provides resources and support to injured service members, Veterans and their families to help successfully reintegrate our nation’s injured military back into their communities.
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America – Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) is the first and largest non-profit for Veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars – 200,000 members and growing.
National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic – Together the Disabled American Veterans and the VA cosponsor the Winter Sports Clinic to promote rehabilitation for Veterans with disabilities through adaptive alpine and Nordic skiing, and other sporting events.
National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic – Sponsored by the VA and hosted by the VA San Diego Healthcare System in San Diego, this annual event promotes rehabilitation of body and mind through summer sporting activites to recently injured Veterans with significant physical or psychological impairments, such as PTSD or TBI.
