Brothers involved in collision

A Bridgeville bartender’s attempt to do a good deed didn’t have the intended outcome. In fact, it ended in one of the more bizarre accidents borough police are likely to handle. Police say the bartender telephoned Noah Lanham, 28, of Presto late Wednesday to advise him that his brother, Darrell Lanham, was intoxicated and request that Noah Lanham pick him up. However, Darrell Lanham, 26, also of Presto, decided not to wait for his brother and began to drive home, police said.
At 12:01 a.m. Thursday, as Darrell Lanham was driving on Charlet Street, police said his car struck another car heading in the opposite direction on Charlet Street – the one driven by Noah Lanham as he presumably was traveling to pick up his brother.
Darrell Lanham’s vehicle continued along Charlet Street onto Prestley Road, where it rolled through the front yard and into the retaining wall of a house in the 100 block of Prestley, police said.
Darrell Lanham fled on foot but was quickly apprehended, police said.

Neither brother was injured. However, both cars were heavily damaged. Police cited Darrell Lanham for driving under the influence of alcohol and several summary citations. Neither brother had a driver’s license or auto insurance, and both were cited, police said.
