BRAIN-injury sufferers were taken on a visit to Oxford Castle and the old Oxford Prison as part of a partnership between the castle and a local charity.
Headway Oxfordshire provides support to those who have acquired brain injury, and their families.
A group of the charity’s users toured the castle last week as well as visiting the Unlocked visitor attraction centred on the old prison.
Headway fundraiser Carole Newbigging said: “They all thoroughly enjoyed it. It is not often they get the chance to see something like Oxford Castle and some of them very rarely get out.”
Headway Oxfordshire has been picked as Oxford Castle’s chosen charity for 2012.
Sarah Mayhew, events marketing executive at the castle, said: “Headway is an incredible charity and not a lot of people know about them so it is a good opportunity to raise its profile.”
