Man's death after punch in head is city's 23rd homicide

A 52-year-old man has died from injuries he suffered when he was punched in the head on Thursday on Milwaukee's north side.
Milwaukee police are calling Charles G. Hegwood's death a homicide. He was punched in the head in the 3100 block of N. Julia St. near the intersection of W. Burleigh and N. King Drive about 5:40 p.m. Thursday and died from a head injury Sunday, police said Monday.
Police are looking for a known suspect. No one has been arrested.
The death is Milwaukee's 23rd homicide of the year. Seventeen homicides had occurred by this time in 2011.
