Nacogdoches Police make arrest in severe injury of girl

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches Police Department has arrested a man in connection to a severe head injury of a one-year-old girl.
Sgt. Greg Sowell said Jerome Mansfield Tyler, 23, of Nacogdoches, was caring for his girlfriend's daughter on March 22. Police were called to an apartment in the 100 block of Old Line Drive and the child was unresponsive and had suffered a head injury. She was taken to a Houston hospital for treatment.
Police and CPS began an investigation and police arrested Tyler at his house on Monday. He is charged with injury to a child, a first-degree felony.
