Taiwanese man bludgeoned to death after a Facebook flirt

Do you remember the “unfriending” double murder in Tennessee that happened just two short months ago? Well, it appears Facebook and violent crime has reared its ugly head again, this time in Taiwan.
Extreme jealousy and a Facebook post about taking a woman to McDonalds led to the brutal beating and death of a 40-year-old Taiwanese gift shop owner.
According to a China Post report, a 40-year-old Pingtung man was beaten to death Sunday after a jealous husband saw his wife and Chuang Shih-chang flirting on the social networking site.
The late philanderer had been a Facebook friend with Chen, wife of the suspicious and vigilant Chou You-huang.
Online, the pair flirted with each other, with Chuang frequently referring to the married woman as his wife.
In one exchange, Chen posted, “I want to get McDonalds! Which nice man will take me there?” Chuang responded: “I am about to arrive at your house!”
Bad move, Chuang.
Chou, after seeing these posts, knew for sure his flirtatious spouse and the older gift shop owner were up to no good, on line and off.
Chou contacted the man for a meeting, in which, Chuang foolishly agreed.
The China Post gives the following account of the Sunday morning beating:
According to investigators, witnesses said Chou arrived at the snack bar at around 2 a.m. on April 7 with two friends, all three carrying metal sticks. Chou did not believe Chuang had been honest about only being friends with his wife, and he and his friends beat Chuang unconscious, dragged him close to his scooter, then called the police, reporting that they saw a man lying on the ground.
The three left believing that Chuang was still alive. Unfortunately, the man who posted on Facebook about taking the woman to McDonalds died from severe head trauma and intracranial bleeding.
Police subsequently arrested the three allegedly involved in the assault.
