Teen girl injured in jet-ski accident

A TEENAGE girl has suffered serious head injuries in a jet-ski accident on the Gold Coast.

The Department of Emergency Service says the 16-year-old was involved in the accident in the Southport Broadwater, near Sea World, about 1.20pm.
She suffered severe lacerations to her head and possible fractured ribs, a spokeswoman said.
The teen was taken by ambulance to the Gold Coast Hospital where her condition was reported as stable.
It was unclear whether the girl was riding the ski or was a passenger but water police are investigating.
