Authorities say a 16-year-old student has been injured in an accident near a Peoria high school.

PEORIA, AZ - Authorities say a 16-year-old student has been injured in an accident near a Peoria high school.

The accident happened outside Sunrise High School, near 83rd Avenue and Lake Pleasant Road around 2:30 p.m.

Peoria fire spokesman Rick Picard said the victim had multiple injuries, including a possible head injury, and was flown to the hospital in stable condition.

Picard said it did not appear any of the injuries were immediately life threatening.

The driver did stay at the scene, according to police.
