Four injured and four arrested in disorder in Laindon

POLICE are appealing for information following an incident in which four people were arrested in Carol Close, Laindon. 

Police were called at 2.40am this morning (Wednesday, 23 May) to reports of a disturbance. Police attended and found four people with injuries and some damage to two properties.

Four people were injured and received medical treatment. Two men in their 30s suffered from a minor head injury and a minor nose injury.

A man in his 20s suffered from a serious head injury and a man in his 30s suffered from serious arm and head injuries.

A 32-year-old woman from Laindon was arrested on suspicion of GBH, a 39-year-old man from Chelmsford was arrested on suspicion of ABH and a 31-year-old man from Chelmsford was arrested on suspicion of GBH. A 27-year-old woman from Laindon was also arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault. All four are currently being questioned in police custody.

DI Caroline Venables said: "Police are currently at the scene of the incident to reassure the local community and preserve evidence. We would encourage anyone that witnessed this incident to come forward and speak to police at the scene, or call investigating officers at the Basildon serious crime team.”

Police have stepped up patrols in the area, and will maintain a visible presence to reassure the community over the coming days.
