Walk will bring awareness for PTSD

A 5K fitness walk “Hear the Silence,” for post-traumatic stress awareness, will be held Saturday, June 9, at Hough Park in Belleville. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 11 a.m. Information tables will be open from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The walk is $15 for adults, $10 for children. The event will have guest speakers, military band music, patriotic face painting, a poker walk, and animals from Wier World Alpacas and Llamas. Register online at www.namievents.getwebbed.net. The walk is sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness Southwestern Illinois, Children’s Home and Aid and The Illinois Military Family Initiative.
