Teen hospitalized with spear gun injury

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A teenager has been airlifted to the hospital after suffering a head injury caused by a spear gun.
Authorities responded to a reported freak accident in the area of the 5200 block of Southwest 139th Place in Southwest Miami-Dade Thursday, involving a male teenager with a spear from a spear gun stuck in his forehead.
Rescue crews airlifted the teen to Jackson Memorial Hospital. The spear could be seen sticking out of the teen's forehead in video of his arrival at the hospital.
The cause of the accident is unknown.
Medical officials are assessing the teen's injuries. His condition is unknown.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue is standing by at the hospital in case medical officials need assistance in cutting off the spear.
