A 72-year-old woman has been treated for a fractured skull among other injuries after being knocked down by a cyclist.Eileen Webb of Fareham was hit by the bike in the Western Wards while she was walking on the pavement, reports the Gazette Daily.
Police have warned cyclists they will face £30 fines if they are caught cycling dangerously on pathways, but Ms Webb could be looking for more than that if she decides to seek compensation.
In addition to her fractured skull, she is attempting to overcome injuries that include a cracked eye socket, a broken nose and two days of unconsciousness.
“When I regained consciousness, I was dumbfounded. It took a while to sink in, but then I felt angry. I could have died with such a clout to the head," Ms Webb explained.
Earlier this month, the Hull Daily Mail told how a man suffered a fractured skull after a random attack in a pub in which he was punched in the face.
